      Every year Windsor Lake St. Clair Catholic Family of Parishes hires a number of students for summer job positions.
       

      General Eligibility Requirements

      • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
      • Legally eligible to work in Canada
      • Available for typical work term: Summer positions are hired for July & August (some positions vary)
      • Work hours that vary depending on your position

    • 2025 – Youth Ministry Community Program Director
      • Job Title: Youth Ministry Community Program Director

        Department: Youth Ministry
        Reports to: Coordinator of Youth Ministry & Children’s Ministry Coordinator
        Rate of Pay: $19.25 per hour
        Posting Date: April 11, 2025

        Summary 
        The Youth Ministry Community Program Director is responsible for providing supervision of program participants and the overall leadership, planning and implementation of recreational programs and faith activities. 

        Primary Duties and Responsibilities
        1. Work with parish staff and youth ministry team members in planning and implementing programming for parish teenagers, children, and families.
        2. Design and deliver fully accessible, AODA‑compliant programming to serve youth with disabilities.
        3. Plan and execute major parish events—cultural celebrations, liturgical activities and our annual Catholic Faith Fest—in collaboration with clergy, staff and volunteers.
        4. Schedule and manage a team. 
        5. Act as a liaison with local organizations to build partnerships that extend our outreach and enrich parish programming.
        6. Provide high quality recreation and faith activities. 
        7. Greet the public, respond to inquiries, and provide a high standard of customer service. 
        8. Ensure the safety and supervision of all participants in accordance with established policies and procedures.
        9. Plan and prepare safe, enjoyable activities and lead participants at the appropriate age/activity level. 
        10. Draft and maintain health & safety policies (AODA‑compliant) to ensure all activities are inclusive, accessible and safe.
        11. Communicate with participants, parents and guardians. 
        12. Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers to assist in programming and contribute meaningfully to its success.
        13. Practice proper health and safety procedures to maintain a pleasant, safe, and sanitary environment.
        14. Display a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times. 
        15. Complete all required reports such as attendance, accident/incident reports, statistics, etc.
        16. Respond to all incidents, accidents, and/or emergencies in accordance with established policies and procedures.
        17. Participate in meetings and trainings as required. 

        Secondary Duties
        1. Attend and participate in regular staff meetings.
        2. Contribute to the ongoing evaluation of recreational and faith activities.
        3. To cooperatively work with and support all staff.
        4. Create staff schedules, and report hours to bookkeeper. Keep track of hours and attendance.
        5. Collaborate with other parish staff members (i.e., social media submissions, lecturing, bulletin submissions, etc.)
        6. Participate in training, retreats, and diocesan events on and off-site.
        7. Expect to be photographed, filmed and posted regularly on our social media platforms.
        8. Other duties as assigned. 

        Qualifications 
        • Minimum of 17 years of age 
        • Maximum age of 30 (as per Canada Summer Jobs Guidelines)
        • A Canadian Citizen
        • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
        • Reliable transportation required

        Qualifications Considered Assets 
        • Previous experience with Windsor Lake St. Clair Catholic Family of Parishes.
        • High School or Post-Secondary Courses in: Leadership, Management, Catholic Studies (Religion), Writers Craft, Communication Studies.
        • Previous experience working with teens, children and/or families. 
        • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to deal with diverse individuals and confidence to effectively address conflict situations 
        • Initiative-taking individual with excellent organizational and time management skills. 
        • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively both in a team environment and independently. 
        • Standard First Aid Certification.  
        • CPR Basic Rescuer Certification (current within 1 year) 
        • Automated External Defibrillator Training

        Skills Required
        • Ability to delegate and direct team members and volunteers
        • Must be comfortable “going live” and “recording yourself for broadcast.”
        • Experience in a leadership role.
        • Video editing skills important.
        • Relate well to young people.
        • Has a creative, innovative spirit.
        • Have a strong knowledge of the Catholic faith and its teachings.
        • Bilingual French Language is beneficial (reading, writing, speaking) but not required.

        Working Conditions 
        • Duties shall be performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. 
        • Manual dexterity to using a computer, peripherals, and the ability to actively participate in programs and faith activities. 
        • Travel between WLSC Parish sites and/or other activities/training sites will be required.

        Primary Duties and Responsibilities

        1. Work with parish staff and youth ministry team members in deciding, planning, and implementing programming for parish teenagers, children, and families. This includes both work and collaboration with the team.
        2. Assist in organizing parish‑wide events—Catholic Faith Fest, seasonal celebrations, outreach programs—handling logistics (scheduling, venues, vendors) and developing promotional strategies to attract youth, families and individuals with disabilities.
        3. Lead creative activities that are fun, interactive, and welcoming to all participants.
        4. Provide high quality recreation and faith activities
        5. Greet the public, and provide a high standard of customer service 
        6. Ensure all events comply with health, safety and AODA‑accessibility standards; provide training and resources to volunteers and staff to guarantee a safe, inclusive environment.
        7. Plan and prepare safe, enjoyable activities and lead participants at the appropriate age/activity level. 
        8. Communicate with participants, parents and guardians.
        9. Practice proper health and safety procedures to maintain a pleasant, safe, and sanitary environment.
        10. Display a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.

        5. Recruit, train and coordinate event volunteers; provide on‑site support and recognize their contributions to foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
        6. Collaborate with other parish staff members (i.e., social media submissions, lecturing, bulletin submissions, etc.)
        7. Participate in training, retreats, and diocesan events on and off-site.
