Your sponsor plays an important role in your faith life so take time to really think about a person in your life that will support you and help you grow in your Catholic faith. Pray about it! Ask God for guidance when making this decision.
1) Must be a PRACTICING Catholic
2) Must be 16 or older
3) Must be Confirmed
4) Must attend Mass on regularly
5) CANNOT be your parents/step parents
6) CAN be your Godparents
1) Who will be a mentor or spiritual advisor in your life
2) Who will give time and commitment to this relationship
3) Who will take on the responsibilities of being a sponsor
4) Whose faith you admire
5) You feel comfortable praying with
6) You feel comfortable discussing your faith with
7) Who lives nearby and is readily available to you for advice, encouragement, and assistance
8) Who is actively living out the beliefs of the Catholic faith
9) Who will lead you closer to Christ
