WHY DO WE GIVE?
Giving draws us closer to God: When you invest in what matters to God, you strengthen your relationship with Him.
Giving grows our character: Giving helps us to better reflect the character of God. He has given us everything — not even withholding his own Son! God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son.
Giving expresses love for people: Our giving makes it possible for people to hear the Good News of God’s love for them. It also helps us provide, through our Ministry partners, critical care to the poor and those in need.

Important Update: Extended Opportunity for Charitable Donations
As faithful stewards of God’s blessings, we are called to share our time, talent, and treasure in gratitude for all He has provided. We would like to share an important update about charitable giving and an extension from the Canada Revenue Agency.
Due to the recent Canada Post service disruption, the Government of Canada has announced its intention to extend the deadline for eligible charitable donations made in early 2025 to be claimed on 2024 tax returns. This means that donations made between January 1, 2025, and February 28, 2025, may qualify for inclusion on your 2024 tax filing. This initiative is aimed at providing Canadians with additional flexibility in supporting charitable causes while maximizing their tax benefits.
What Does This Mean for You?
If you haven’t been able to make your regular offertory donation or weren’t aware of your eligibility for a tax receipt, this extended period provides an opportunity to prayerfully consider how you can contribute. Donations made in January and February 2025 may still count toward your 2024 tax receipt income tax return filing, if you choose. Your offertory gifts sustain our parish mission, support vital ministries, and help us live out our Catholic faith in service to one another and our community. If you’d like more information on how to donate or how tax receipts work, we would be happy to assist you. Please contact the parish office.
