Imagine you could see the life of Jesus through the eyes of the people that walked on earth with him: the disciples, Mary, his mother, the Pharisees, the children, those he healed. What would that look like? Now you can experience it! The Chosen is the first-ever-multi-season TV show about the life of Jesus. Created outside of the Hollywood system, The Chosen allows us to see Him through the eyes of those who knew him.
At the end of Season 1 of The Chosen, there was still a lot of Christ’s story that needed to be told. The show was only just scratching the surface of his ministry. Season 2 starts just as Christ and the first few apostles were leaving for Samaria and ends just at the beginning of his famous Sermon on the Mount speech that has gone on to be one of the centerpieces of his ministry. Throughout the season, the show addresses multiple major events in the life of Christ, from a retelling of the parable of the lost sheep to depicting Christ casting out the demon Legion from a possessed man. As with most of the first season, season 2 dramatizes events and character backstories that aren’t directly addressed or explained in the New Testament but doing so for the purpose of building up the events of the gospels in a human and relatable way.
Season 3 of The Chosen continues to follow the lives of Jesus and the disciples as the ministry of Jesus begins to spread. The disciples' lives are examined as they are sent out by Jesus. As the disciples start to go out, and the teachings of Jesus start to spread, tensions rise. But Jesus reminds the disciples again and again that He came with hope, not a sword. The season ends with two powerful miracles and the disciples coming back together.
In Season 4 we're getting closer and closer to Jerusalem, to what we know is coming. Jesus is getting increasingly frustrated, and yes, sad. Not because he's getting closer to death, but because of the reasons He must die. From his faith's religious leaders, to the holy city of Jerusalem, to his own friends and followers, people are not understanding his mission. To that end, He must allow painful things, and even set in motion certain confusing or bittersweet events, to accelerate the outcomes that will lead to Holy Week. .Formed is FREE for us to use, if you don't have an account a facilitator will reach out to you with details on how to sign up.
