  • TRUSTING IN GOD'S WORD

    • Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. Psalm 56:3

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. Jeremiah 29:11-13

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

    • Pray with the church

Pray along with the daily prayers and readings of the church by downloading iBreviary.

The iBreviary offers you the complete daily missal to follow the Mass. It is similar to the missalettes and worship aids found in your church. Click here for more information.

    • BISHOP's Prayer

Join all those across the Diocese of London in prayer:
We ask all the faithful in the Diocese of London to pray. Pray for the comfort of those who have lost loved ones to this pandemic. Pray for all the sick, including those ill with COVID-19. Pray for the healthcare workers who care for the sick and put themselves at risk every day. Pray for a vigilant calm in the face of rapidly changing events. And pray that this pandemic will soon be over without taking any more life.

  • PRAYERs DURING THE CORONAVIRUS crisis  FROM THE ARCHDIOCESE OF DETROIT

    • A prayer for the sick especially those suffering from the coronavirus.

Loving God, you sent your son Jesus Christ to heal the sick.  We ask you to come to our aid in the midst of the coronavirus crisis that we too may experience your healing love.  We ask you to heal those who are sick.  Calm those who are living in fear.  Be with those who have died and comfort their families.  Inspire health professionals to aid them in their healing work.  Guide national leaders to lead and make decisions with wisdom.  Help us to always be aware of your presence as we place our trust in you.  We ask this in Jesus name.  Amen.

Prayer for an end to the coronavirus crisis

Loving God, we come before you in our time of need.  We lay before you our concerns and fears over the spread of the coronavirus.  We know that you are mightier than all our fears and that the name of Jesus is the name above all other names.  We ask, in the name of Jesus, that you stop the spread of the coronavirus.  In your mercy, heal those who are sick and lead those who have died into your heavenly kingdom.  We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus.  Amen.

    • Prayer of Pope Francis during the coronavirus crisis

      O Mary,
you always shine on our path
as a sign of salvation and of hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick,
who at the cross took part in Jesus' pain, keeping your faith firm.
You, Salvation of the Roman People,
      know what we need,
and we are sure you will provide
so that, as in Cana of Galilee,
we may return to joy and to feasting
      after this time of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love,
to conform to the will of the Father
and to do as we are told by Jesus,
who has taken upon himself our sufferings
      and carried our sorrows
to lead us, through the cross,
to the joy of the resurrection. Amen.

Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of we who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin

    • Making a Act of Spiritual Communion

It has long been a Catholic understanding that when circumstances prevent one from receiving Holy Communion, it is possible to make an Act of Spiritual Communion which is a source of grace. Spiritual Communion means uniting one’s self in prayer with Christ’s sacrifice and worshipping him in his Body and Blood.

The most common reason for making an Act of Spiritual Communion is when a person cannot attend Mass. Acts of Spiritual Communion increase our desire to receive sacramental Communion and help us avoid the sins that would make us unable to receive Holy Communion worthily.

      A prayer for Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love you above all things and I desire to receive you in my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally,
Come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if you were already there
And unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me to be separated from you.
      Amen.
